Big Fish Tank The Monterey Bay Aquarium is an excellent place to visit.
Ocean Animals | Seals, Sea Lions and Sea Otters can be seen from the back balconey of the aquarium.
Goof Offs | Sarah and I take some time to act silly.
Let's Go Shopping | The East Bay Vivarium is the country's oldest reptile specialty pet store. It is located in Berkeley.
California Creek | This habitat yeilded some interesting creatures.
Jerusalem Cricket | Perhaps the ugliest bug I've ever seen in my entire life.
Skinny Salamander | The California Slender Salamander was the most commonly encountered tailed amphibian. They have tiny legs and a rediculously long tail.
A Stranger in a Strange Land | It looked like the earth was being sucked into the ditch beside the railroad tracks.
Another California Creek | This was the location of an excellent reptilian find.
Creekside Arachnid | A scorpion belonging to the genus Centruroides.
Think Skink | A Western Blue-tailed Skink. These lizards move quite quickly.
Herp Hightlight | The most exciting part of the trip was finding this Western Pond Turtle. They are the only freshwater turtle living in The Golden State and are in serious decline throughout much of their range. |
