MOUNT HAMILTON
Sarah and Connie wanted to do some herping, so we headed to a mountain that had cows on it.
Our first find was a California Kingsnake.
Sierran Treefrog.
Young rattlesnake.
Adult rattlesnakes.
Unfortunate rattlesnake - this one had a partially striped pattern. It was residing under a piece of metal that was probably stepped on by a cow.
Southern Alligator Lizard.
Sarah likes alligator lizards...
...but she liked them even more after finding out that they give heart-shaped bites.
Ensatina.
California Toad.
Connie thinks toads are cute.
A shy racer.
Pacific Gopher Snake.
It was a great week of herping and hanging out in the Golden State.
