With spectacular scenery and rock formations such as Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Rock House and Cantwell Cliffs - we had a lot of ground to cover.

 

Hocking Hills Highlights
Ash Cave Ash Cave Adventure
The group begins the hike to a massive, horseshoe-shaped cave; measuring 700 feet from end to end, 100 feet deep from the rear cave wall to its front edge with the rim rising 90 feet high.
Garter Snake
Striped Snake
This young Eastern Garter Snake was found sunning itself by the side of a hiking trail.

Ash Cave Impressive Recess
In the southernmost reaches of Hocking Hills is Ash Cave. It is the largest, most impressive recess cave in Ohio.
Spring Salamander Spring Thing
Spring Salamanders are large, lungless, and favor cool, clear water from seepage areas in the forest.

Cedar Falls Cedar Falls
This is a remote, primitive chasm populated with hemlock (the falls are inappropriately named, as hemlock was mistaken for cedar) and bound by steep rock walls and their accompanying waterfalls.
Jeffersons Salamander Kind of Blue
This Jefferson's Salamander had a considerable amount of blue coloration. These amphibians spend most of their life underground.
