Twelve Months of Northern Ohio Herps in 2020 (Part 2)
On March 25th I saw my only Blanding's Turtle of the year.
March 30th was a good day for herping, here is an American Bullfrog in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
A Midland Painted Turtle.
I saw my first Northern Water Snake of the year on March 30th.
A good looking Northern Leopard Frog in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
A Common Snapping Turtle on April 3rd.
There were a number of other turtles out basking that day as well, like this melanistic Red-ear Slider in the middle of a group of Midland Painted Turtles.
A backyard Redback Salamander that I found on April 6th.

On the 18th I saw this Wood Frog crossing the road at night.

A Red-ear Slider that was also out basking on April 23rd.
I found my first DeKay's Brown Snake of the year on April 29th.
I also found this cool "leadback" morph of Redback Salamander on the same day.
This Green Frog, also seen on the 29th, had some neat colors.
This Northern Water Snake was one of a few that I saw while visiting Cuyahoga Valley National Park on April 29th.

I don't find that many Dusky Salamanders close to home, so it was nice to see this one on May 22nd.
