Even after two days of hiking and cave exploration, some of the students wanted to continue looking for reptiles - so after we came back from the lake, that's exactly what we did.

Graham caught this adult female Five-lined Skink, along with a number of other herps found on the trip, including the next one.

Box Turtle
Turtle Two
The Eastern Box Turtle is the northeast's most terrestrial turtle. This one was hanging out by the golf course.

Tim and Turtle One Tough Turtle
The Box Turtle showed signs of having significant shell damage in the past. Wild turtles can sometimes recover from rather serious injuries.
Black Widow Black Widow
This female Black Widow spider was guarding her eggs.
Skink Bluetail
Young skinks often have high-contrast patterns and bright blue tails (which easily break off) to confuse predators.
