Desert Oasis We found this creek in the middle of nowhere. 
Tadpoles | The creek contained hundreds of red spotted toad (Bufo punctatus) tadpoles. 
More Tadpoles | There really were a lot of them. 
Tiny Toad | A newly metamorphosed red spotted toad. 
Water Bugs | There was much insect life in and around this stream as well. 
Matt Has Seen the Top of the Mountain | And it is good. 
California King | This desert phase California kingsnake (Lampropeltis getulus californiae) was found while road hunting near the border of Arizona. Click here to see another pic 
Night Snake | A desert night snake (Hypsiglena torquata deserticola) was found on the same night as the California king. Click here to see another pic
