Red Rock Canyon, which is less than an hour drive west of Las Vegas and has many significant geologic features - and many cool herps.

As the name implies, the area features spectacular red and white sandstone cliffs.
Bighorn Sheep
Ram Tough
A group of male Bighorn Sheep were grazing in the area where I was looking for reptiles and amphibians.
Creek Creek Time
This creek is one of my favorite places to visit, because it often has Red-spotted Toads and Pacific Chorus Frogs in and around it.

Though no toads were seen, about 20 Chorus Frogs were present, in a variety of colors and patterns - here's what some of them looked like.

Frogs weren't the only thing out, this Weidemeyer's Admiral was a neat find.
California Kingsnake Last Splash
Eventually evening came and I went on my last hike of the trip. I heard something rustling in a Creosote Bush by the side of the trail and saw the telltale markings of a young Califonia Kingsnake - it was a great way to end the trip.
