Red Rock Canyon

	*Rainy Day Herping* The weather began to get cool and rainy. The temperature only reached the low 50s for the rest of the trip. On the following day I looked for amphibians in Red Rock Canyon.
	*Ground Squirrel*
	*Pacific Treefrog* It's a bit odd to find frogs in the desert, but they're there.
	*Triple (Red-spotted) Toad Time* Red-spotted Toads can often be found under rocks near creeks.
	*"Textbook" Red-spot*
	*Tan Red-spot*
	*Unspotted Red-spot*
	*Phainopepla* These birds have a specialized mechanism in their gizzard that shucks berry skins off the fruit and packs the skins separately from the rest of the fruit into the intestines for more efficient digestion. It is the only known bird able to do this.
	*Big Beetle*
	*Waterway* One of my favorite desert creeks.
