Monday - Herping the Santa Cruz Mountains

I started off in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Walking through an open meadow, I came across this California Kingsnake that was getting ready to lay her eggs.

Western Fence Lizards were quite plentiful in a number of places I went.
Coast Garter Snake Big Coast
This is the biggest Coast Garter Snake I've ever seen.

Coast Garter Snakes can vary in color and are sometimes quite red.
Rubber Boa Rubber Boa
This is a real snake with a name that sounds fake. This is the first boa I've ever seen in the wild.
