ALMADEN QUICKSILVER COUNTY PARK
There's a place that used to be used for mining that is now a County Park near San Jose. I decided to check it out.
Chalcedon Checkerspot.
A "power trio" of Slender Salamanders.
Banana Slug.
Northern Pacific Rattlesnake.
Close-up.
Skilton's Skink with a brown tail.
Skilton's Skink with a blue tail.
Ringneck doing the "make your tail look like a corkscrew" thing.
Pacific Northwest Scorpion.
Tiny California Toad.
Big Red-ear Slider.
Killdeer.
I have yet to find my first wild tarantula, but this "False Tarantula" was pretty cool, and the largest wild spider I've ever seen.
